If the Regular Season Ended Today, Here is what the American Conference Tournament Bracket Would Look Like

We are now a couple days away from when the American Conference Tournament will tip off in Orlando. The tournament will take place Thursday March 8th - Sunday March 11th from the Amway Center.

With Wichita State joining the conference, the tournament set up is a little different. Last year the top 5 teams in the regular season earned buys, this year the top 4 will earn buys.

Here is what the bracket would look like if the regular season ended today.

Thursday March 8th

Game 1: #9 SMU vs. #8 UConn 12:00 ESPNU

Game 2: #12 South Florida vs. #5 Memphis 2:00 ESPNU

Game 3: #10 Tulane vs. #7 Central Florida 7:00 ESPNU

Game 4: #11 East Carolina vs. #6 Temple ESPNU

- UConn currently gets the tiebreaker over SMU because of their head-to-head record. UConn won the only time they played this year, although it doesn't matter as they will meet in the 8/9 match up.

- Temple has the tiebreaker over UCF. The teams split their two games in the regular season, so it then goes to whoever owns the best win in the conference. Both lost to Cincinnati, but Temple holds a win over Wichita which gives them the nod.

- South Florida is the only team officially locked into their seed at #12.
