Big East earns three spots in Top 10 of AP Top 25 Poll
The fourth edition of the College basketball Top 25 AP Poll was released on Monday. Once again, the No. 1 Kentucky Wildcats (40 first-place votes) held the top spot. They were followed by the No. 2 Villanova Wildcats. The defending NCAA Champions earned 20 first-place votes this week.
Currently, the Top 25 has three Big East teams in the Top 10. The No. 7 Xavier Musketeers moved up two spots. Meanwhile, the No. 10 Creighton Blue Jays rose a couple of spots this week. All three teams have a (6-0) record, but they aren't the only Big East teams in the Top 25. The No. 18 Butler Bulldogs joined the AP Top 25 Poll for the first time this season. They also sport a (6-0) record. Despite knocking of the Arizona Wildcats, the Bulldogs still remained behind one of the PAC-12 powers. The Cardinals dropped eight spots to No. 16.
The ACC also received three spots in the AP Top 25 Poll. The No. 3 North Carolina Tar Heels lead the way. They are followed by No. 5 Duke and No. 6 Virginia. The Louisville Cardinals dropped four spots to No. 14, while Syracuse dropped four spots to No. 22. They both lost a game over the weekend.
