Dirty Dozen: A Running Clock Edition.
The Kansas; (is it basketball season yet?), vs. TCU barnburner was one for the ages. It was the FOX game of the week on the big network on prime time. The ALCS Game 7 was pushed to FS1 to push FS1. And I watched it.
I'm still trying to figure out how far back this game set collegiate football. I'm pretty sure I saw leather helmets out there at times. The Frogs seemed to score when they wanted to. The game had the feel of a light scrimmage.
What made the evening even more bizarre was the running clock that was imposed early in the fourth quarter, that no one seemed to know how to implement. Heavy thunderstorms were approaching, but a 'no mas' would have been the proper route to go if those storms got close. The numerous commercial breaks during the running clock didn't cease though; (Can't get enough of the Dr. Pepper vendor.)
Maybe it was the dolcid tones of Tim Brando.
Does this clinch a three-peat for the Dumpster Fire Award for Kansas; (is it basketball season yet.)? Or will the rank contenders such as Oregone State, Baylored and BY(p)U steal the burning dumpster all to themselves? Hold your nose and look at this week's lineup.
And I'm not apologizing to anyone.
