Stamkos Out For Months

Steven Stamkos

I was going to write about Tampa Bay Lightning's captain, Steven Stamkos being sidelined indefinitely with a meniscus tear in his right knee, but things have changed within the last hour.

On the Tim&Sid Show on Sportsnet, it was announced that Stamkos's injury is more serious and that he'll need surgery.

This really sucks if you're a Lightning fan.

Last season, Stamkos had to sit out for the rest of the regular season and a good portion of the playoffs because of a blood clot.

Things were looking good for Stamkos going into this season.  In fact, he was third in the NHL in scoring before he suffered the Injury on Tuesday night against the Detroit Red Wings.

Reports are indicating that Stamkos is going to be out for months.

It is not good for the NHL when a high calibre player such as Stamkos goes down with a serious injury.

Hopefully Stamkos won't be out too long this time.
