Ray Allen Announces Retirement
NBA legend Ray Allen has officially retired today. We all knew he was already done, but today he makes it official. Ray Allen will be known for his 3-point shooting ability, but in his younger days he was super athletic. Ray Allen had some great battles with Allen Iverson in the Big East when he played for Connecticut and Iverson played for Georgetown. When he went to the Bucks they were dangerous. Having Sam Cassell, Ray Allen, Glenn Robinson and Tim Thomas most would think they would've went to the NBA Finals at least, but nope a guy named Allen Iverson was in they way.
Playing with the Sonics was when Ray Allen took it to another level. Kobe Bryant at this time was the best shooting guard in the league, but Ray Allen was right there. Allen and Rashard Lewis use to fill it up on the scoring side.
When Ray Allen got traded to the Celtics his athletic ability started to diminish, but his shooting ability was still there. Rondo and Allen use to be deadly.
Now you think Rondo and Ray Allen was deadly just think and remember how scary LeBron James and Ray Allen was.
Ray Allen played huge parts for the Celtics and Heat to win NBA championships. On his retirement Ray said he is "completely at peace with himself."
Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen all will be in the same Hall of Fame class. Amazing!
