The Miami Dolphins are one of two teams in the NFL that have yet to register a win this season and the possible reward for bottoming-out could be the turning point for the franchise.

The Dolphins have truly struggled to find a legitimate successor to Dan Marino, who retired over 20 years ago.

Jay Fiedler arguably had the most success in South Florida, guiding the team to three playoff berths in his four seasons while Ryan Tannehill held the role of starter for the longest stretch, from 2012 to 2018.

The Dolphins' search for a franchise-quality quarterback could finally bear fruit if Brian Flores' team land the first-overall selection in the 2020 Draft.

The prize for finishing at the bottom of the league comes in the form of Tua Tagovailoa, a quarterback playing his junior season with the Alabama Crimson Tide.

The 6-foot-1, 218lbs Ewa Beach, Hawaii native is proving himself to be the very best quarterback prospect that is expected to enter the 2020 Draft.

In his three seasons under the tutelage of former Dolphins head coach Nick Saban, Tagovailoa has thrown for 6768 yards, 81 touchdowns and just ten interceptions.

His accuracy has grown each season, from 63.6% completed passes in 2017 jumping up to 74.7% this season. This season alone, Tagovailoa already has 27 touchdowns, 2166 passing yards and has thrown just two interceptions.

The Crimson Tide have typically relied on a strong ground game in recent years, but the quality of their man under center has seen a strong shift towards a sturdy passing game.

The Miami Dolphins find themselves in a strong position to build a new, young team through the 2020 draft with three picks in the first round and two in the second round.

Landing a talent such as Tagovailoa and having four early-round picks to add talent to support him could be what the franchise has been wanting for many years and could finally see the team's struggles start to turn around.
