Is the NFL proving Offense Wins Championships this Season?

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

When the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers played each other in Super Bowl 50, defense played a big role in getting there. Broncos won that game because of a strong defense and not a very good offense. Is this season the complete opposite of that?

Well the teams that are remaining is the Green Bay Packers, Atlanta Falcons, Pittsburgh Steelers, and New England Patriots. What do they all have in common? A very talented offense and a suspect defense that is prone to giving up big plays.

This season, the Falcons ranked 2nd in the NFL in total offense with 415.8 yards per game. They also averaged 33.8 points per game. The Patriots are ranked 4th in the NFL in total offense with 386.2 yards per game. They also averaged 27.6 points per game.

The Steelers are ranked 7th in the NFL in total offense with 372.6 yards per game. They also averaged 24.9 points per game. The Packers are ranked 8th in the NFL in total offense with 368.8 yards per game. They also averaged 27 points per game.

Only the New England Patriots are ranked in the top 10 in total defense (8th overall). The rest of the squads are in the middle of the pact.

None of the defenses have a bunch of game changers. Offense is going to win the championship this season because not one of these teams can really trust the defensive side of the ball. Matt Ryan, Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, and Ben Roethlisberger are too good to be stopped. Which ever team executes the best on offense will probably win the Super Bowl.

I also have said in the past when the game is tied late at like 28 and someone scores a touchdown, what won them the game? The offense not the defense.
