Los Angeles Dodgers Spring Training Preview
Last year new manager Dave Roberts brought new energy into the Los Angeles Dodgers organization. They won a playoff series against the Washington Nationals last fall. However, they lost to the Chicago Cubs in the next round.
Maybe this season the Dodgers could take the next step and get back to the World Series. They have a solid starting pitching staff to get them there. Clayton Kershaw, Rich Hill, Kenta Maeda, Julio Urias, and Scott Kazmir will be the starters in the rotation. Julio Urias is a young stud who is going to bolster this rotation and Kershaw is going to be Kershaw.
Kenley Jansen is expected to be the closer. Yasmani Grandal will be the catcher. Justin Turner, Corey Seager, Logan Forsythe, and Adrian Gonzales will be the starters in the infield.
Andrew Toles, Joc Pederson, and Yasiel Puig will be the starters in the outfield. Trayce Thompson and Andre Either will be solid backups for the Dodgers in the outfield.
Projected opening day lineup: 1. (2B) Logan Forsythe 2. (SS) Corey Seager 3. (3B) Justin Turner 4. (1B) Adrian Gonzales 5. (C) Yasmani Grandal 6. (RF) Yasiel Puig 7. (CF) Joc Pederson 8. (LF) Andrew Toles 9. pitchers spot.
The Los Angeles Dodgers will open up the season at home against the San Diego Padres on April 3rd.
