Peterson Signs with Saints

Former Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson, has signed a two-year contract worth $7 million with the New Orleans Saints. He will receive $3.5 million guaranteed in the 2017 season. This is all according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
He only had 72 rushing yards last season because of a knee injury that sidelined him for most of the season. In his career so far, Peterson has 11,747 rushing yards and 97 touchdowns. He also has 241 catches for 1,945 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns.
This is actually a very smart signing by New Orleans. It gives them a second vauable option in the backfield along with Mark Ingram. They could run the ball a little bit more, and they don't have to use Drew Brees as much, although Brees will still throw 40 to 50 times anyways.
Peterson isn't probably the same player, but he will make this offense even more dangerous. It is very possible the Saints could be a playoff team this season.
The New Orleans Saints actually open up the regular season at the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football (September 11).
