Steelers Show Toughness against Giants
Both the New York Giants and the Pittsburgh Steelers have very talented skill players, but in games like these, it was a matter of who won at the line of scrimmage. It seemed as if the Steelers dominated the Giants on the line of scrimmage all game. It resulted in a Steelers 24 to 14 victory over the Giants.
In the first quarter, the Steelers scored a safety in the end zone because of a holding penalty by the Giants in the end zone. That is just one exhibit how Pittsburgh dominated the line.
In the second quarter, Ben Roethlisberger threw a 22-yard touchdown pass to Antonio Brown. Brown finished with 6 catches for 54 yards receiving and 1 touchdown.
Trailing 14 to 0 in the third-quarter, the Giants forced a fumble and recovered it. It resulted in a 13-yard touchdown pass to Rashad Jennings from Eli Manning. That would be the first score in the red zone of the day for the Giants. They were 0 for 2 before that, with a interception by Manning and failing on a 4th-and-one play earlier in the game.
Pittsburgh punched them in the mouth right back when Roethlisberger found Ladarius Green for a 20-yard touchdown pass. He finished with 6 catches for 110 yards receiving and 1 touchdown. Big Ben finished with 289 passing yards 2 touchdowns and 1 interception.
A player that played exceptionally well was Le'Veon Bell. He had 118 rushing yards and 6 catches for 64 yards receiving.
When it was 24 to 7, Giants scored one more touchdown by Sterling Shepard receiving from 1-yard out. Eli Manning had a rough day with 195 yards passing 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. He looked uncomfortable at times. His top target Odell Beckham Jr., had 10 catches for 100 yards receiving.
Each team had 2 sacks. The Steelers will travel to face the Buffalo Bills (6-6) next Sunday.
