Week 6 NFL Predictions

Jeremy Brevard-USA TODAY Sports

Shockingly, the defending NFC Champions Carolina Panthers are off to a 1 and 4 start. Tom Brady returned to the field last week with a booming performance. The Minnesota Vikings are the only remaining undefeated team in the NFL. The Cleveland Browns are the only remaining winless team in the NFL.

I went 9 and 5 with my predictions last week.  I am 46 and 31 on the season.

Denver Broncos 24, San Diego Chargers 21: How will the San Diego Chargers find a way to blow this game? They play well enough just to lose. Gary Kubiak will not be coaching the Broncos on Thursday Night. If Trevor Siemian plays for the Broncos, they will breeze to victory. If Paxton Lynch is the starting quarterback, they will win the game but it will be tougher.

San Francisco 49ers 14, Buffalo Bills 21: Colin Kaepernick will be the starting quarterback for the 49ers, and he will take a knee on every play? If they actually want to score, they can't do that. Switching quarterbacks won't make a difference for the 49ers. Tyrod Taylor and LeSean McCoy are playing better in the new Bills offensive scheme.

Jacksonville Jaguars 31, Chicago Bears 20: Jacksonville will be rested off a bye week. They are ready to soar of the gates and get on a winning streak. Blake Bortles will carve up a horrendous Bears defense. They should be able to get some pressure on the Bears offensive line.

Los Angeles Rams 16, Detroit Lions 23: The Rams and Lions are a mystery every week. You don't know if you'll get the good side or the bad side. Los Angeles and Detroit are prone to turning the ball over. Last team with the ball will win this game.

Pittsburgh Steelers 35, Miami Dolphins 14: Antonio Brown and Sammie Coates is becoming a dangerous receiving tandem real quick for the Steelers. It is going to be very difficult for the Dolphins corners to cover them one on one. Also, they have to worry about Le'Veon Bell on the ground. Miami might also get blitzburghed on offense.

Cincinnati Bengals 17, New England Patriots 27: The Bengals need a win against a quality opponent. However, the Patriots will make them look small. New England's defense will suffocate Andy Dalton. Tom Brady will control the tempo on offense for New England.

Carolina Panthers 28, New Orleans Saints 35:  Carolina's defense will get bombarded once again against a lethal Saints offense. Can Cam Newton play like an MVP with the Panthers having their backs to the wall? Jonathan Stewart might be back in the backfield this week for the Panthers.

Baltimore Ravens 20, New York Giants 17: Both teams are heading south, but one will be heading north after Sunday. The Ravens fired the offensive coordinator after Sunday's loss and hired a new one. It shows they have a sense of urgency in the locker room, and the New York Giants don't. The lack of discipline is becoming an issue, and it will be a distraction for the Giants.

Cleveland Browns 16, Tennessee Titans 35: If the Titans want to contend for a playoff spot down the road, they have to beat the Cleveland Browns. DeMarco Murray is the energizer bunny in the Titans offense. Marcus Mariota is his partner in crime.

Philadelphia Eagles 24, Washington Redskins 30: Carson Wentz and Kirk Cousins should be a good quarterback battle. Philadelphia played over their heads the first weeks, and Washington is rolling. The Redskins will make more big plays than the Eagles will.

Kansas City Chiefs 20, Oakland Raiders 34:  Derek Carr is slinging the football like there's no tomorrow. He is not afraid of the circumstance of the game, and he just plays. The running game is a little shaky, but it will gain confidence this week. Jamaal Charles is back in the backfield for the Chiefs.

Dallas Cowboys 24, Green Bay Packers 17:  Dallas will control the tempo of the game, and they will keep Aaron Rodgers on the sidelines. Green Bay wasn't that impressive last week, and Dallas made a statement early. Green Bay has a solid run defense, but Elliott won't be afraid.

Atlanta Falcons 14, Seattle Seahawks 17: Atlanta has been impressive the past couple of weeks. At some point they will fall back to earth. Seattle's defense will contain Atlanta's rushing attack. Russell Wilson and the Seahawks's offense will find a groove.

Indianapolis Colts 20, Houston Texans 24:  The Texans seems comfortable at home. Brock Osweiler won't be rattled against a shaky Colts defense. Will Fuller will have a big night in the receiving category.

New York Jets 15, Arizona Cardinals 31:  With or without Carson Palmer, Arizona won't lose to a struggling New York squad. David Johnson will run hard, and make the Jets defense look foolish. Ryan Fitzpatrick will get intercepted a couple of times.

Byes: Minnesota Vikings and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Enjoy Week 6 everybody!
