Thanksgiving and just five weeks more until Playoffs
This holiday season its great! good food, good drinks, family and friends sharing time and of course ... thrilling games in the end of regular season in the NFL. We almost have the first seeds of each conference, where the New England Patriots and Dallas Cowboys will be the contenders. In other side, we have a serious teams which will be give us really good surprises! One of them is the winners of the last Monday Night Football in México, the Oakland Raiders. It is really fun to watch play the Raiders, it reminds me a lot the XLVIII Super Bowl winners Seattle Seahawks, with a good pass rushers, a stable and tough defense in this case with a leader Khalil Mack, and a two-year experienced QB with good arm and good movement filed skills QB Derek Carr. Aside from the referees bad calls during the game in México, the Raiders showed why they are a dangerous team who can beat the almighty Patriots in the American Conference. In the National Conference, the contenders for the Cowboys will be definitely the Seattle Seahawks, who beat Philadelphia Eagles in the loudly and difficult CenturyLink Field. In the other hand, the Eagles continue struggling with their failures in the air plays, because just Jordan Mathews showed up some consistency in the season and some busts as Nelson Agholor are ruining the team with a lot of drops. After 11 weeks, the coach Doug Pederson is willing to take some serious decisions in the benefit of the team, and one of them is to move WR Paul Turner to the active roster, who showed a lot of talent in the preseason, and bench Agholor and help him with a team psychologist. Against Seattle, Agholor made a lot of mistakes which costs at least to the team a couple of touchdowns, and those mistakes were constant all the season. After the game he made an interview where we saw that this guy has a mental problem. It is true that the players receive a lot of money to play and it is their responsibility to have production each game, but first they are humans and have the same problems that a professionals have, so it is just to clear his mind and focus on the routes and be calm down in the catches. Definitely Pederson is handling the WR situation as an expert and we expect that the moves and calls will be positive for the team.
The true is that we have one month and a week to finish the regular season and there are some things to discover until the last week. Teams who supposed to be a potential winners in this season are struggling like the Green Bay Packers which are now 4-6 and with a coach Mike McCarthy siting on a hot bench, or the 5-5 Indianapolis Colts who supposed to have the next top-elite QB in Andrew Luck, but their problems in the defense and offensive line are causing to be 2nd in the AFC south. The real thing is that we are going to have an amazing game on Thanksgiving day against Pittsburgh Steelers, will Antonio Brown is going to eat turkey and stuffing on the field side, or will be Phillippe Dorsett? The thing is that both teams needs an urgent win to keep in the loop of the playoffs.
My predictions for the week 12 have some surprises, including the second lost in the season for a NFC East team, if you know what I mean... or a prediction that everyone guess which is related to Cleveland city and the mathematically eliminated Browns.
