Byron The Great
There are very few reasons to praise Byron Scott and his time as a coach in LA.
He was a great player no doubt about that, 3 time NBA Champion and All-Rookie first team, but as a coach? Well not really. He's amounted a bit of success as a head coach reaching the finals twice, 4 winning season but has an all time coaching record of 437 - 582. How could he possibly receive praise?
Byron has come in and taken a job no one else would've!
Lose and take the heat from LA and Lakers fans WORLDWIDE! I mean he is the reason for the Lakers struggles and bad record, right? Not necessarilly. It wasn't his fault Julius broke his foot and missed the entire 2014-15 season. Kobe injuring his shoulder, requiring surgery and missing the same season. Xavier Henry ruptering his Achilles and missing entire season as well. Nash playing enough games to qualify for his pay check then dipping out claiming bad back, but then go play golf a little after and Dwight had just walked away from the Organization. Byron had very little to work with and tried his best to make it work. LA understood, those were just some things out of Byron's control.
After all that the Lakers kept the pick.
Having him representing at the draft lottery drawing with the the 4th worst record turned out to be a good luck charm, landing the #2 pick and he deserves high praise for that. The same thing can be said about his time in Cleveland, Byron came in post LeBron. Practically same scenario, only it happened there first, did his job with what was given in Cleveland, landed The #1 Pick back to back years which in 2014 turned out to be Andrew Wiggins and walked off into the next "tanking program". Pop Quiz Hot Shot! Without using Google, can you name another player besides Kyrie on the Cavs squad from 2010 - 2013?
As for the 2015-16 season his coaching ability has been exposed.
Remember the All Star presser where Clarkson whispered "Don't say nothing stupid" to D'Angelo? Yeah. At times Byron was clashing with the rookies and seemed like D-Russ, Jordan or Julis did not respect him. Byron would go in the press conference contradict himself by stating they need to play harder and more aggressive but then isolate D'Angelo, say he was being cocky and needs to learn how to play "really trying to take over the game and thats not him, yet" after going 2 for 5 in the 4th "I like the fact that he has confidence, when it gets to the point of cockiness then we have a problem." What do you want? You want aggression, growth and confidence, but not in the 4th quarter or passive aggressiveness? Not until the Future's game where D'Angelo was "set free to ball out", the fans were exposed and saw a glimpse of his potential that Byron kind of was forced to implement the same thing, to a certain degree during games.
Maybe the long-term plan is "tank to acquire top picks".
The Lakers are forcefully rebuilding and already have 4 solid potential All Stars, (Clarkson, Russell, Randle and Nance), to carry the Lakers organization forward with a potential 5th in this year's draft, if kept, for the post Kobe Bryant era. If that is the case, Byron did one hell of a job coaching. Sitting D'Angelo and Julius when they would get the hot hands, mismanaging the rotation and roster, taking out players in certain situations, playing Sacre and Ryan Kelly. Not that it matters now but he should've been playing D'Angelo and Julius in the 4th to gain experience instead of sitting them out to watch and learn with the fast pace system. At this point losing seems to more important because of the higher probability to keep the top 3 protected pick, Either way the Lakers organization is in ok hands. Only change I would like to see is Scott Brooks as the Head Coach and Tom Thibodeau as Assistant/Defensive coach and Byron as the million dollar towel guy, I'm just kidding about Byron the towel guy. Thanks any way Byron.

Been in an accident, in pain, need help and don't know what to do?
Trust me, I went through the process of doubt, uncertainty, worry and physical pain. Who is going to pay my medical bills? Am i going to pay out of pocket for the attorney and medical fees? Will I receive compensation?
Robert B. Sarvian and his legal staff were professional, friendly and informative through the process. Even The medical staff they referred me to was so good I didn't want to leave. They took care of everything and got me a great compensation. Contact his office, start the recovery process and get taken care of (213) 385 - 6323
