2017 MLB Power Rankings: Week 5

Welcome to week number five of my 2017 MLB Power Rankings. We're a month into the season and some of the top teams that were expected to do good like the Giants, Jays, Cubs, Indians are struggling and teams like the White Sox and Reds are playing better than expected. The New York Yankees are still playing very good and currently in first place in the AL East.
2017 MLB Power Rankings: 5/1/17-5/7/17
(Season Record), [Previous Week's Ranking], {+, - & =}

T.1 Washington Nationals- (21-10), [T.1], {=} The Nationals are the best team in the NL right now. They're scoring runs and their pitching has been solid. 4-2 This week.
3. New York Yankees- (20-9), [5], {+2} The Yanks are Red Hot right now, their bats are hitting and the pitching as been very good. I still don't believe in their pitching but we shall see. They swept the Chicago Cubs this past weekend. 5-1 This week.
4. Baltimore Orioles- (20-10), [6], {+2} The O's have won five of their last seven games and are in second in the AL East behind the Yankees. 5-2 This Week.
5. Cleveland Indians- (17-13), [4], {-1} The Indians haven't been playing are that great so far this season. I still think by season's end they will be one of the best teams in MLB. 3-3 This week.

10. Los Angeles Dodgers- (17-14), [10], {=} The Dodgers are 7-3 in their last ten games and have been scoring runs. 3-2 This week.
11. Arizona Diamondbacks- (18-15), [8], {-3} The D-Backs are still among one of the best teams in baseball but had a rough week. They are 4-6 in their last ten games. 2-4 This week.

15. Tampa Bay Rays- (16-17), [15], {=} The Rays have been playing decent so far this season. They have a good solid offense and decent pitching. 4-3 This Week.
16. Detroit Tigers- (15-15), [12]. {-4} The Tigers demoted Francisco Rodriguez (K-Rod) from the closer's role and made Justin Wilson the new closer. They're 4-6 in their last ten games. 3-3 This week.
17. Minnesota Twins- (15-14), [17], {=} The Twins are 6-4 in their last ten games. 3-2 This week.

19. Chicago White Sox- (15-15), [13], {-6} The White I believe are starting to come back to earth little bit and are 4-6 in their last ten games. 2-5 This week.
20. New York Mets- (14-16), [24], {+4} The Mets are like the Knicks of MLB drama city. Mets' Pitcher Matt Harvey was suspended for three games for violating team rules. Noah Syndergaard who is out with an injury to his right lat muscle will not throw for at least six weeks. 4-2 This week.
21. Pittsburgh Pirates- (14-17), [21], {=} The Pirates are 5-5 in their last ten games but are in last place in the NL Central. 3-4 This week.

27. San Francisco Giants- (11-21), [25], {-2} The Giants keep on struggling and are in last place in the NL West. This isn't what I expected from them this season. I picked them to win the World Series. Granted they lost their ace for at least two months but they were't even playing well before that. 2-4 This week.
28. San Diego Padres- (12-20). [29], {+1} The Pads are a young team that's going struggle all season. They are 4-6 in their last ten games. 1-4 This week.
29. Atlanta Braves- (11-18), [27], {-2} The Braves are 4-6 in their last ten games. 1-5 This week.
30. Kansas City Royals- (10-20), [30], {=} The Royals what else is there to say they can't score runs. They have only scored 82 runs in 30 games played that's 2.7 runs per game. 3-4 This week.
