Adrian Peterson signs with the New Orleans Saints; 3 reasons why I think it's a bad move for AP

Adrian Peterson has found a new home with the New Orleans Saints after signing a 2-year deal Monday. Peterson the Vikings all-time leading rusher (11,747) was released after spending his first 10 seasons in Minneapolis.

The Saints have been known as one of the most potent offenses in the NFL over the past decade with Drew Brees at the helm, but how will Adrian Peterson fit in? I think it will be a tough task for the 32-year-old running back because:
1. The Saints are a predominantly passing team and use running back by committee so Peterson's carries may be limited. It may prolong his career but if he's looking to be the man then it's a bad decision on his part.
2. New Orleans style of offense is a wide open type offense that doesn't feature a fullback, something that Peterson was accustomed to in Minnesota. He ran the ball much better in the I-Formation than in the single back set. On top of that he will be asked to catch the ball out of the backfield, something rarely seen in Minnesota (241 career receptions).
3. Peterson is no spring chicken at 32 and coming off another knee injury makes you think how long can he hold up in a fast-paced offense such as the Saints?
Only time will tell how much he really has left in the tank, but one thing for sure we will learn sooner rather than later.
