What's next for Carmelo Anthony and the Knicks? Trade or Buyout?

The New York Knicks and Carmelo Anthony are still at a crossroad even after they parted ways with Phil Jackson, who publicly said it's time for Anthony to move on from New York.

Anthony's contract situation is what is making this such a hard departure from NYC because One he has a no trade clause that only he can trigger if he wants to play for another team of HIS choice. Secondly if he gets traded they he has an escalator clause which pays him an extra 15% on top of his remaining 54+ million he's owed.

Carmelo has the advantage in every way possible but how can he get in the best situation that best fits his talents? If he is traded then it'll likely be Houston or Boston, but if the Knicks buy him out (they have stated publicly that they won't do a buyout) he's likely to go join LeBron in Cleveland.

It's time for something to happen because Anthony is getting older and the Knicks need to rebuild, so the only thing that stands in the way is course of action. Either the Knicks are ready to move on or they will let him retire in the big apple and I really don't see that happening.
