Warriors 13-0: The makings of a perfect team

Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

The Best Team Ever???  or The Best Team Ever!!!!

Disclaimer 1: I am rooting for Lebron James and the Cavs to win the title (and yes Lebron by himself competed against this very team in last years finals)
Disclaimer 2: Jordan is the greatest of all time and the 72 win Bulls are the best team of all time.  No questions asked.

Right now the Warriors are 13-0 (Pelicans +16, Rockets +20, Pelicans +14, Grizzlies +50, Clippers +4, Nuggets +15, Kings +9, Pistons +14, Grizzlies +16, Timberwolves +13, Nets OT +8, Raptors +5, and Clippers +7).

Perfect so far. Will they go 82-0? Ofcourse not? Will they break 72-10? Very possible!  Are they better than the 72 win Bulls team? No chance. Are they a perfect "team"? Yes

THE PERFECT TEAM.

1.  Start with the best player in the NBA (at this moment) in Steph Curry (2015-16 - 34.2ppg (52.0% FG, 45.3% 3s, 93.3% FT), 5.8apg, 5.3rpg, 2.5 spg).  Beyond that, the FG% does not tell the whole story, because the shots he takes (and makes) would put the best shooters in NBA history on the bench immediately. He has been unreal. People talk about him as the best shooter of all time. There is no doubt that how he is shooting the last 2-3 seasons has never been done before.  And to take it a "Steph" further, he is more than willing to pass the ball, and shows he is a very unselfish player.

2.  Now lets start building.  At the PG you have the best player in the NBA.  At shooting guard you put in arguably the best shooting guard in the NBA (Sorry Harden, play some defense). Klay Thompson is another offspring of NBA talent.  Another extremely unselfish player who was taking on the Pippen role when his very capable of player Batman.  He is a top tier shut down defender, with a shot second only to his running mate; Steph Curry.  His shooting ability limits double teams by other defenses against Steph.  And at 93% FT, good luck getting a miss at the end of the game from the GSW.

3.  At small forward you have the best of both worlds.  Starting an offensively gifted athletic Harrison Barnes for the offensive strategy, and off the bench, another defensive specialist in Andre Iguadala for the defensive end of game strategy.  With Iguadala fully capable of handling the clutch shots and clutch defense (current FINALS MVP).  Both players have actively accepted their roles.

4.  The power forward position?  Arguably the second best PF in the game (as versatile as Anthony Davis minus some height).  Draymond Green is underrated.  Very underrated.  He is a Swiss Army Knife on the basketball court.  He can do it all on the offensive end (actual leads the Warriors at 7 assist per game).  He can shoot 44% FG, 40% 3's, 77% FT.  He can rebound 8 rpg.  He can do the dirty work.  He can provide the energy.   On defense he is just as versatile.  He can effectively defend 2's, 3's, or 4's, and in short spurts can guard centers and point guards if needed.  He can pick and role.  He can pick and pop.  And most importantly, he understands and accepts his role.

5.  Center is another position the warriors have options in.  And it starts with one of the best defensive centers in the NBA. Andrew Bogut.  Another player that knows and excepts his role.  with 3-4 of the 5 positions playing at a high defensive level this team is not only the top scoring team in the NBA, but also top 5 defensive team in the NBA.

Who do you guard on this team?  Who do you foul at the end of the game?  Pick your poison, but remember all Warrior poison will defeat you.   They are so good and often win by so much that their best players get to rest, and rest a lot.  That will help them with injuries and playoff fatigue.

This team is perfectly constructed.  Great management, great coaching, and of course great players.   With an experienced bench and NBA finals winning experience this team is read to take it to the next level.  They were an impressive 67-15 last year and have improved across the board.  Watch out NBA, here they come!!!
