Baseball in my Life

My name is Jeremy Geller and baseball to me has been a major part of my life for as long as I can remember.

It all started with my dad giving me a baseball mitt a bat and a ball literally before I could walk. Every since then my love for the game, and sports in general, has grown. Today, unfortunately, I have blown out my shoulder and I am unable to play on a consistently, but that does not mean that my love for the game is gone. From that beginning of baseball my love of sports and being active only grew. Today, I spend most days eagerly going through ESPN and other news sources looking for something, anything, new in the sports world. Once I got older, my dad and I decided we were going to make it our mission to get to every baseball stadium. By far the best trip I have taken so far is my trip to Minnesota. The stadium was beautiful, the game was great, and honestly, it was one of the prettiest cities I have seen. To me there is just something beautiful about a good game of baseball. I have been playing for so long and at a level where I am really able to appreciate some of the things they do more than in other sports. Never having played football or basketball as much, I miss the beauty of certain things. That game in Minnesota allowed me to really get down close and personal with the field due to a short rain delay and really see the stadium and the field that they play on and made it by far one of the most memorable games I have been to.

Today, this passion for the sports world has led me to studying Sport Management at the University of South Carolina. To me, it seemed like an obvious choice, with everything the sports world means to me and how much I love it, I would absolutely love to be a part of making it so that others just like me can enjoy it just as much as I do. My dream is to be able to become a GM one day, and although it will be a long path, I always fantasize about what I would do if I were to be a GM and it is something I have always wanted to do. That being said, anything that would put me into position to make my love for sports a possibility for others with a high quality event for all to enjoy is really what I want to do and provide.
