NXT Results for 11-30-2016: Asuka in Action, No Way Jose Faces Eric Young, A Wrestler's Last NXT Match?
This episode of NXT was recorded in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, either before or after "SmackDown Live." I hate to admit this, but unlike an American audience, the majority of the Canadians in the stands knew exactly whom was in front of them. If WWE had tried to record a NXT episode as part of a SmackDown show here in the States, about one-eighth of the crowd would know whom the wrestlers were, and what to chant.
Early in the show, Dasha Fuentes interviewed Tye Dillinger, and he said that he keeps coming up short in big matches, and was getting tired of it. He then added, that if he can't win his next big match, he may not belong here.
Match 1 - Asuka vs. Nicole Matthews: This match was never in doubt, and Asuka made Matthews tap to the crossface chicken wing.
After the first match, new NXT Champion Samoa Joe was conducting an interview, when Dillinger stepped up to him. The "Perfect 10" told Joe to give him a match, and Joe said he wasn't deserving of one due to his loss to Bobby Roode. Dillinger then said that he was going to have to force a match with him, then. That is when Dillinger slapped Joe in the face. Needless to say, Joe granted Dillinger the match after that.
Match 2 - No Way Jose vs. Eric Young: As one might expect, Young's Sanity-mates got involved in this match with distractions throughout. All this led to Young being able to give Jose his wheelbarrow-suplex-neckbreaker finisher. Young scored the pinfall after that.
Main Event - Samoa Joe vs. Tye Dillinger: The "Perfect 10" gave it his all, but couldn't overcome an enraged Joe. The Samoan wrestler is hard enough to beat when he isn't mad, an angry Joe is flat out dangerous. To his credit, Dillinger wasn't pinned or submitted. He passed out to Joe's rear naked choke. After the match, Dillinger stood up and waved to the fans.
