NXT "Takeover: Toronto" Results (11-19-2016): Did Anyone Lose Their Belt?

Match 1 - Bobby Roode vs. Tye Dillinger: This match's ending was quite thrilling.  Dillinger had put Roode in a Sharpshooter.  The "Glorious One" got out of it, but the "Perfect 10" immediately went for a Tiebreaker.  Roode was able to escape that as well, and he then whipped Dillinger straight into the ring post.  Favoring his right shoulder, the "Perfect 10" was grabbed by Roode, whom hit him with an impaler DDT.  The "Glorious One" then pinned Dillinger for the victory.

Match 2 - Final of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, Authors of Pain vs. TM-61: I'm not sure when the announcement was made, but Paul Ellering was forced to enter a cage to keep him from interfering.  That cage was then hoisted above the ring.  Amazingly, within the course of the match, Rehzar was given Thunder Valley.  Unfortunately, Akam broke up the pin attempt, and kept the match going.  Akam and Nick Miller ended up near the entrance, and Shane Thorn dove onto them with an over-the-top-rope somersault dive.  The ref went to make the ten-count on Thorn, and since his back was to the rest of the ring, Ellering dropped a chain from the cell.  Rehzar picked it up, wrapped it around his wrist, and when Thorn got on the apron, tried to hit him with it.  Thorn stopped him by kicking his hand, but Akam then got Thorn in the ring, where he was outnumbered two to one.  Thorn eventually took the Last Chapter and couldn't kick out from Akam's pin.  The A.P. were 2016's Dusty Classic winners.

Match 3 - Two out of Three Falls for the NXT Tag Team Championships, #D.I.Y. vs. (c) The Revival: The first fall finished when Gargano attempted his between-the-ropes spear, got caught by Scott Dawson and was planted with the Shatter Machine.  Dawson then scored the first pinfall.  The second fall went to #D.I.Y. after they gave Dawson their knee-to-the-back-of-the-head-Superkick combo and pinned him for the three-count.  The final fall was easily the most exciting one.  There were broken up pin attempts, counters to finishers, and each team even tried to deliver the other's finisher.  #D.I.Y., for instance, gave the Shatter Machine to Dash Wilder, but the pin attempt was broken up by Dawson.  Later on, The Revival attempted Tommaso Ciampa's and Gargano's finisher, but "Johnny Wrestling" was able to dodge it, and Dawson ended up Superkicking Wilder.  This began the end of the match, as Gargano put Wilder in a modified crossface.  He held on for a while, and that is when Dawson entered the ring.  Ciampa grabbed him before he could break things up, and the "Psycho Killer" soon put Dawson in an armbar.  With no possibility of escaping, Wilder submitted to the modified crossface, relinquishing the belts to #D.I.Y.

Match 4 - NXT Women's Championship, Mickie James vs. (c) Asuka: James has been out of the ring for a while, having had a baby within the past year, and being gone from TNA for a time before that, but you couldn't tell that on Saturday night.  If you ask me, I would say that it was the best shape I had ever seen James in.  Of course, James had truly never faced an opponent like Asuka, and she too fell to the "Empress of Tomorrow."  The defending champ was able to retain her title by making James submit to the cross face chicken wing.  After the bell, James extended her arm and looked to shake Asuka's hand.  The Women's Champ stood in front of James for a second, before raising her belt up in arrogance.

Main Event - NXT Championship, Samoa Joe vs. (c) Shinsuke Nakamura: This meeting between Nakamura and Joe was a great one.  It kept me on the edge of my seat, anyway.  I certainly didn't see the ending going how it did.  Joe had ended up outside the ring, and the referee went to go check on him.  Nakamura really wanted to end things, so he too went outside the ring.  He charged at Joe, but the ref had gotten in between him and the challenger midway through his run.  Joe shoved the ref, and that is when he gave a low blow to Nakamura.  With the ref trying to get up, Joe then slammed a hurting Nakamura on to the steel steps.  Joe then hurriedly lifted the champion, shoved him into the ring, picked him up again, placed him on the top rope, and then delivered the muscle buster.  Joe pinned Nakamura, and the defending champion was unable to kick out.  Samoa Joe had regained the NXT Championship.
