My Trip to Target Field

This is a follow up to an earlier post I made specifically talking about my experience inside Target Field. First, let me just say, getting to and from the park was an absolute breeze. This is something that throughout my time as a baseball fan I have noticed a lot of stadiums struggle with: getting to and from fairly easily. I was able to hop right on the train and it took me to just outside the stadium. On the way back, it was just as simple which is an art lost in so many other stadiums around the country. I can tell you from experience being a Yankee fan, the only way really to get there is to drive because the subway is completely confusing and does not always get you to where you need to be and it is over $40 to park because other options are so limited. Once you get into the stadium it is really a beautiful stadium. In a lot of ways it is very similar to so many of the other parks that I have visited traveling to different stadiums, however, being built so recently, some of the nuances of the stadium are not seen everywhere. The transportation is one of these nuances that completely change the feeling of going to the stadium for the game and make the whole day more enjoyable because the stress of transportation is not nearly as bad. The one downfall that I particularly saw while I was at the stadium was their lack of preparedness for a rain delay. This is a problem many other stadiums have, and unfortunately it is hard to do something about. Once the rain delay was called and the start time was pushed back , they were completely ill-equipped to handle the hoards of people just standing around underneath the overhang by the food. Other than that and a few inevitable viewing problems from certain seats due to angle (we sat kind of towards the corner and back a few rows and therefore inevitably lost a little bit of the action happening directly in front of us), the stadium was beautiful and smartly laid out. There were many food options, and even ones not seen in every stadiums, and the newness of the stadium clearly helped give it an air of freshness, (and hey, free Wi-Fi doesn't hurt). Overall the stadium was beautiful and completely had a different, unique feel from the other parks I have visited and is a total must see for any other baseball park goers out there.
