Jeremy Lin and The Houston Rockets Should Reunite Once Again

Even though the partnership between Jeremy Lin and the Houston Rockets has failed twice before, it is time for them to consider a reunion once again. This is because of Mike D'Antoni's half court offense which is built around a pick and roll concept where the point guard would bring the ball up to the three point line and then a big man would set a screen. Once the screen was set the point guard would pay attention to his defender to determine the next course of action for instance, if the defender went under the screen, the point guard would go over the screen and take the wide open shot. On the other hand, if the defender went over the screen, the point guard would go over the screen as well and drive towards the basket where he would score or pass the ball to the player next to him depending on whether he was double teamed or not.

(Mike D'Antoni's offense)

As a result of this, a potential reunion with Mike D'Antoni in Houston would give Jeremy Lin the best chance to somewhat approximate the magic and/or statistics ( Linsanity) that he achieved with the New York Knicks. This is because Mike D'Antoni's half court offense would allow Lin to be in a position to utilize his strengths (which are his ability to shoot and drive to the basket) more often since the point guard has the ball ninety percent of the time. Therefore, If he came off the bench for the Houston Rockets he would be allowed to bring the ball up to the three point line where a big man would set a screen.  Once the screen is set, he would go to the right and  shoot the three-pointer if the defender failed to make it to the other side of the screen. On the other hand, if the defender is able to fight thru the screen, Lin would drive to the basket which allows him to put pressure on the defense to make a decision on whether they will double-team him or not. If the defense double-teams Simmons will most likely pass it to the perimeter or the player next to him for an open shot. If they do not he will shoot a jumper or drive depending on whether the defense sags off or plays close to him.

Therefore,  I would advise the organization and Lin to forget about what happened in the past and reunite once again because it gives the organization some much-needed firepower off the bench while giving Lin some career stability
