Thaddeus Young Traded to Indiana Pacers

Thaddeus Young has been traded from the Brooklyn Nets to the Indiana Pacers, for the draft rights to the #20 overall selection.  For cap reasons, this trade won't become official until early July.

Thaddeus Young was clearly the second best player on the Nets behind Brook Lopez last year (which doesn't say much), but he also has provided a solid, secondary scoring option and will now do so behind Paul George and Jeff Teague.  Larry Bird is clearly showing his interest in retooling the Pacers' roster for new coach Nate McMillan, acquiring Thaddeus Young and Jeff Teague since yesterday afternoon.

For the Nets, this is clearly a cap-shedding move, as well as one to move into the first round of the draft and hopefully expedite their rebuilding process.  FYI, Hoopsrumors.com's mock draft has the Pacers selecting Demetrius Jackson with the 20th pick, but it's unclear who will still be available then and what position Brooklyn is looking for.  Everything besides center is a need, and most people think that moving on from Brook Lopez is not a bad idea either.
