What a difference a year makes if you are the Washington Capitals. They lost in heartbreaking fashion to the Pittsburgh Penguins in game 6 last season. This season it was completely different with the Capitals winning 5 to 2.

T.J. Oshie scored in the first period on the power play for the Capitals. Andre Burakovsky scored in the second period for the Capitals.

Nicklas Backstrom, John Carlson, and Andre Burakovsky scored for Washington in the third-period.

Jake Guentzel and Evgeni Malkin scored for Pittsburgh in the third-period, but it was obviously too little too late.

Braden Holtby made 16 saves for the Capitals. Marc-Andre Fleury made 21 saves for the Penguins. Game 7 is on Wednesday night in Washington.
