Eric Berry Bails out Kansas City
The NFL made the game more exciting when they implemented the 2-point conversion return rule in the off season. Because of that, Eric Berry picked off Matt Ryan on the 2-point try late in the fourth-quarter, and returned it for two points. It resulted in a 29 to 28 win for the Kansas City Chiefs over the Atlanta Falcons.
It occurred after Matt Ryan threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Aldrick Robinson. Ryan finished with 297 passing yards 1 touchdown and 1 interception.
In the first quarter, Devonta Freeman scored on a 1-yard touchdown run. Later in the period, Spencer Ware scored on a 3-yard touchdown run. With the Chiefs trailing 13 to 6 in the second-quarter, Alex Smith threw a 3-yard touchdown pass to Spencer Ware. Smith finished with 270 passing yards and 1 touchdown. Ware finished with 29 yards rushing and 1 touchdown, along with 23 yards receiving and 1 touchdown.
Eric Berry returned an interception 37 yards in the second-quarter for a touchdown. With Kansas City leading 20 to 16 in the third-quarter, Albert Wilson scored on a 55-yard rushing touchdown on a fake punt attempt.
Freeman scored one more touchdown in the fourth-quarter for the Falcons. He finished with 56 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns, along with 4 catches for 49 yards receiving.
Kansas City will host the Oakland Raiders (10-2) on Thursday Night.
