Mets Avoid Sweep

The only two runs of the game for the Marlins was on a two-run double by Dee Gordon.
Jay Bruce homered in the fifth inning for the Mets and Michael Conforto homered in the sixth for the Mets.
Noah Syndergaard pitched an other effective game for New York and he was the winning pitcher. He pitched seven strong innings and gave up five hits and two runs. Syndergaard struck out nine batters.
Edison Volquez was the losing pitcher for Miami. He pitched six innings and gave up seven hits and five runs. Volquez walked one batter and struck out seven.
Addison Reed picked up his first save of the season for the Mets, in place of suspended Jeurys Familia. Reed struck out two batters in the ninth.
