Penguins Quietly Victorious against Blue Jackets

NHL: Columbus Blue Jackets at Pittsburgh Penguins

Teams don't need to be fancy to defeat quality opponents. The Pittsburgh Penguins just did that on Tuesday Night, taking down the Columbus Blue Jackets 4 to 1.

Pittsburgh now had a three-point lead in the standings on Columbus for second place in the Metropolitan Division. Matt Murray was calm all game long , stopping 38 shots and the team followed his lead.

Carter Rowney scored in the first period for the Penguins. Patric Hornqvist and Brian Dumoulin scored in the second period for Pittsburgh. It was Dumoulin's first goal in 150 regular season games.

In the third period, Jake Guentzel scored on a tip-in in front of the net for the Penguins. Brandon Dubinsky scored a short-handed goal for the Blue Jackets.

Sergei Bobrovsky was the reason why the Blue Jackets didn't give up eight goals last night, and he made 23 saves. The season series was tied at 2, and it is very likely this is a first round matchup.
