Penguins Top Hurricanes

Pittsburgh lost three straight home games and they wanted to snap that funk in a hurry. They looked calm and poised through out the game against the Carolina Hurricanes. The Penguins won 3 to 2.
Jake Guentzel scored a power-play goal in the first period for the Penguins. Jeff Skinner tied the game at one for Carolina later in the period.
Scott Wilson scored the lone goal for the Penguins in the second-period. In the third period, Conor Sheary scored a power-play goal for Pittsburgh. Justin Faulk scored a power-play goal for Carolina later in the period. He took a high off the boards and it went in off of Matt Murray's back.
Murray made 33 saves for the Penguins. Eddie Lack made 23 saves for the Hurricanes. Carolina's playoff hopes are doomed. Pittsburgh will momentarily move into second place in the Metropolitan Division. They have a huge game on Tuesday night at home against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Pittsburgh won the season series 4-0.
