ANY GIVEN SUNDAY: EAGLES SHOCK THE WORLD!

Stew Milne-USA TODAY Sports

Its been more than 48 hours since the Philadelphia Eagles went into Gillette Stadium and SHOCKED THE WORLD! And beat the defending SuperBowl champions the New England Patriots, 35-28 in their home!  Yes, the same Eagles team that got outscored 90-31 in the prior two games against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Detroit Lions

It was a scoreless first quarter. However, that all changed in the second as the Patriots scored two touchdowns to go up 14-0 halfway though the second quarter. After the second Patriots TD, the Eagles go down and score a touchdown of their own to cut in half 14-7. With less than two minutes left in the half the Patriots punted the ball and the Eagles blocked it and linebacker Najee Goode recovered and returned it for a touchdown. Click here to watch blocked punt returned for a TD. The score was tied was 14-14 at halftime.

The Patriots got the ball first in the second half drove down field and it looked as if they were gonna take a 21-14 lead but Free Safety, Malcolm Jenkins picked it off and ran 99 yards for a touchdown. It was one of two interceptions that Tom Brady would throw . The Patriots would punt it are their next drive and Darren Sproles would return it for a touchdown. And the Eagles were up 28-14 with less than five minutes left in the third quarter. The Patriots would turn the ball over again on their next drive, the second interception by Brady. The Eagles would go down and score and were up 35-14 early in the fourth. The two team would trade punts before they would score with about five and half minutes left and recovered an onside kick. They went down field to score again and make it 35-28.

Lastly, this was a fantastic win by the Eagles! My thoughts are this team team came together and played like they wanted it more. When nobody (including myself) didn't give them a snowballs chance in hell in winning this game especially because it was in New England and they were coming off a overtime loss the previous week. And also they hadn't loss back to back games in over three seasons, the fact they played piss poor the previous two games. They look like a team that was fighting for their coach and themselves. It was a great win. I'm glad they came out with fight and passion, I'm proud of this team. Now let's see what the do in last four games. Is this fluke or is this turnaround? Can they win the awful NFC East and make the playoffs? Time will only tell and it starts on Sunday when "Shady" LeSean McCoy comes back to play his old team for the first time since getting traded in March. If they lose on Sunday this win means nothing especially if they get blown out. Hopefully they come out with the same fight but I'm not going to count on it, instead I will do the wait and see approach. I think this was a fluke but we shall see as I said. I'm still shocked that they won this game it hasn't really fully sank in yet.

If I were to give out the game ball to it would after be Malcolm Jenkins and Darren Sproles both had huge touchdowns!
