The Sam Bradford Era in Philly is OVER!
Late this morning, the Eagles traded starting Quarterback, Sam Bradford to the Minnesota Vikings for a 2017 first round pick and a 2018 fourth round pick which could be third or second round pick. If the Vikings reach the NFC Championship game this season the Eagles will receive a 2018 third round pick and if they somehow win the Super-Bowl this season they will receive a 2018 second round pick. The Minnesota Vikings did this trade in wake their starting/franchise, Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater suffered a season-ending knee injury. He torn his ACL and dislocated his knee cap, he injured his knee on Tuesday during a non-contact drill.
Bradford who re-signed for two years in March won't even get to play out his contract with the Eagles
This was a desperate move by the Vikings. The reason it was a desperate move is because they have a good team and needed a quality starting Quarterback to help them win so they pulled the trigger by giving away their first round pick next season. As they say desperate times calls for desperate measures and this was a desperate move in my option. They had no good backup quality QB that could help them win. They would of probably started Shaun Hill as their starting QB.
Finally, Sam Bradford will return to the City of Brotherly Love on October 23, 2016 as the Eagles will take on the Minnesota Vikings in week 7 at the Linc. This was a steal of a trade no question about it now we need to hope the Vikings have a bad season and we get a top ten pick as the 2017 NFL Draft is in South Philadelphia next April.
THANK YOU MINNESOTA for Taken Bradford off our hands. I'm so thrilled about this trade and the fact that Sam Suckford (Bradford) isn't here anymore. I wasn't a fan of him. The season starts a week from tomorrow so who will be under center in the opener against the Cleveland Browns at the Linc? Chase Daniel or Carson Wentz?
The Eagles will hold a press conference at 4pm ET today.
