The Capitals demolish the Defending Cup Champion Penguins.

Hi everybody. The Washington Capitals demolished the Pittsburgh Penguins 7-1 last night in the Nations Capital. Alex OVECHKIN ended a four games scoreless streak with a goal and assist last night. But it was NICKLAS BACKSTROM who was they Star of the game with a 5-point night, 2 goals and 3 assists in their rout of the Pittsburgh Penguins. T.J OSHIE had a great night himself, 2 goals and 2 assists himself as everything went right in Washington

Everything went right for the Capitals. It could have been even strength they scored. It could have been 5-on-3 they scored. It could have been 4-on-3 they scored. It was a great night to be a Capitals fan. While everything was going right for Washington just about everything went wrong for Pittsburgh. Here's a case in point, In the first period of play EVENGI Malkin had a collision with Penguins Goalie Matt Murray while trying to knock down Capitals Defenseman Karl ALZENER. Murray had to leave the game do to concussion Protocol. Murray gave up 2 goals in 14 shots before the injury. He was cleared to return but coach Mike Sullivan decided to stick with Marc-Andre Fleury. That's decision that coach Sullivan is regretting Big Time this morning. Fleury gave up 5 goals in 25 shots in this embarrassing loss to the Capitals. So what's next for both teams, The Penguins continue their road trip as they face the New York Islanders. As for the Capitals they continue their 5-game home stand as they face the Detroit Red Wings.

This game was sweet all the way. Here's my take, The Capitals had loss the last 2 games. That Includes a heartbreaking loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets in overtime. So the Capitals were looking to rebound from that loss. And boy oh boy they did just that. Alex OVECHKIN just literally Shut Sidney " Cry-Baby" Crosby up and it was beautiful. But both teams are doing very well. Crosby had no comment after this embarrassment. As for OVECHKIN he said after the game " This win was sweet because we had struggled in the last two games losing a heartbreaker in overtime. This win was what the team needed and we are back in contention because Montreal is very tough right now and that's what are focus is going to be right now."  Well I will say this in closing. The Capitals won big last night while the Penguins got what they deserved along with " Cry-Baby" Crosby because he thinks he's all that. The Washington Capitals put him in his place and proved that Alex OVECHKIN is the next Big thing in the NHL.
