Miami Dolphins: Torching the Jets
The Miami Dolphins beat the New York Jets and beat them convincingly in a 34-13 rout of the Jets this past Saturday night. Matt Moore looked as capable as a back up quarterback as Ryan Tannehill is a starter. Jarvis Landry had a big game including a 66 yard touchdown reception from Matt Moore.
The Dolphins are currently the sixth seed in the NFL AFC playoff picture. If they want to stay there they need to win at least one more game and hope Denver loses at least one more game in order to go to the playoffs for the first time since the 2008 season.
Unlike that year this team seems like it could compete and possibly win a play off game. With a confident head coach in Adam Gase, a much improved quarterback in Ryan Tannehill and an up and coming running back in Jay Ajayi this team feels like a group that could possibly win at least a game in the playoffs.
Right now if the season were to end Miami would play Pittsburgh. Remember the Dolphins beat Pittsburgh 30-15 back in October. Now the team they would play in the playoffs would be in Pittsburgh where it is very hard to play, but having confidence knowing you've beaten an opponent is very important going into the playoffs.
Now it's not starting today, but you have to feel pretty good about the Dolphins chances now with a game lead on everybody trying for the final wild card spot. If the Dolphins can beat the Bills and have Denver lose it would look pretty good for the Dolphins to make the playoffs this year.
