Nashville Advances to First Ever Conference Finals

The Nashville Predators franchise was founded in 1997 and they have never been in the western conference finals before. Today all of that fate has changed. The Predators defeated the St. Louis Blues in game 6, 3 to 1 to advance to the next round, for the first time in franchise history.
Nashville won once again in front of their home fans. The building was quiet early when the Blues drew first blood in the first period on a Paul Stastny goal 2:04 into the game.
Roman Josi scored :35 seconds into the second-period for the Predators. Ryan Johansen scored the game-winning goal 3:15 into the third-period, on a back-handed shot. Calle Jarnkrok scored an empty-net goal with 1:00 remaining in the game.
Pekka Rinne made 23 saves for the Predators. Jake Allen made 15 saves for the Blues. The Nashville Predators will either face the Edmonton Oilers or the Anaheim Ducks in the western conference finals.
