Sloppy Packers defeat Heartless Giants
When the New York Giants and the Green Bay Packers meet, people always expect it to be a shootout and a whole ton of drama. It wasn't the case on Sunday Night, when each team committed a turnover or two. The field wasn't in great condition either. The Packers defeated the Giants 23 to 16.
In the first quarter, Aaron Rodgers threw a 7-yard touchdown pass to Jordy Nelson. Nelson finished with 4 catches for 38 yards receiving and 1 touchdown.
With Green Bay leading 7-3 in the second-quarter, Aaron Rodgers threw a 29-yard touchdown pass to Davante Adams. Adams finished with 5 catches for 85 yards receiving and 1 touchdown. Rodgers finished with 259 yards passing 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions.
The Packers dominated the Giants in the first half. New York struggled to get a pass rush. When the Giants cut the lead to 14 -6, they forced a turnover. Will Tye would drop a wide open pass which would have gone for a touchdown. On the next play, Eli Manning was sacked, and he fumbled the football. The Packers would recover, and they would kick a field goal.
When Green Bay led 23-9 in the fourth-quarter, Eli Manning threw a 8-yard touchdown pass to Odell Beckham Jr. He finished with 5 catches for 56 yards receiving and 1 touchdown. Manning finished with 199 yards passing and 1 touchdown.
On a third-and-10 play with 2:30 in the game, Aaron Rodgers completed a pass to Randall Cobb to seal the deal. Cobb finished with 9 catches for 108 yards receiving.
The Green Bay Packers will host the Dallas Cowboys (4-1) in an NFC Showdown next Sunday.
