Dallas Mavericks to Honor Tony Romo's Career

The Dallas Mavericks will be celebrating Tony Romo's retirement Tuesday against the Denver Nuggets. ESPN.com's Marc Stein says he will be a "Maverick for the day." Romo gets to sit on the bench in full Maverick attire. While this event is meant to celebrate his NFL career, he will be treated as a real Maverick player.
"He was really, really good, but he'd already committed to [Eastern Illinois] for football," said his high school coach, Steve Berezowitz. "I think everyone thought he was a better basketball player at the time. I think he knew that his ceiling was higher in football though."
The final numbers are in Romo leaves the NFL with all kinds of records. He is the franchise leader in passing yards (34,183) and passing touchdowns (288).
Per PFF, Romo is tied at 14th overall for most forth-quarter comebacks (since 1960) with 25.
