Michigan QB Wilton Speight Is out for the season.
Hi everybody. I have some bad news for Michigan Football Fans in Ann Arbor this morning. The Star Quarterback Wilton Speight is out for the season with a broken Collarbone in his non-throwing shoulder. He left the game in the 4th quarter in their 14-13 loss to Iowa on Saturday night. He's the Star that led Michigan to their best record in years. Speight's absence might hurt Michigan's chances for a Big 10 title.
Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh said on Monday that Wilton Speight "could be" a game time Decision.
Harbaugh tired to down play the seriousness of Speight's injuries by saying "I want to speak to the Doctor that did his examination. Because we need him Badly against Ohio State, 2 weeks from now. I want to know how bad it really is and I want Speight to try to take some snaps this week." Michigan Plays Indiana this week, Then after that it's the showdown at the Shoe against Ohio State and in my opinion I would love to see Ohio State face Michigan's Wilton Speight. But I don't want him out there if he has a broken Collarbone.
So what does this mean to the Quarterback situation going forward. Michigan has 2 backup Quarterback's at the ready. The 1st backup is John O'KORN he is 13-of-18 for 114 yards and 2 touchdowns in relief of Speight this season. The other Quarterback is Shane Morris who has not done much this season at all.
Michigan does have a good running game in DE'VEON Smith he has 121 carries for 592 yards this season. He has averaged 4.9 yards per carry and he has 8 touchdowns this season.
Michigan is in trouble. Here's my take, Wilton Speight's loss is a big blow to the offense. He has 2.156 yards this season with 15 touchdowns this season. But Iowa kept him in check, Speight only had 103 yards passing for the game. That's his 2nd lowest passing game for the season. Michigan has a great defense don't get me wrong look at what they have done this season. But they have the Showdown at the Shoe in 2 weeks. And Michigan needs to get it's offense going now because if they don't Michigan will lose again in the Shoe in 2 weeks. And In closing my prayers for a speedy recovery go out to Mr. Speight. And I wish him well and you my friend have a very bright future ahead of you. Get well soon and I will see you again on the Football Field. And to Jim Harbaugh, Ohio State' Public enemy Number 1. You need to just tell the Truth. Speight's injuries are bad and you better get use to not having
your star QB because he's finished for the season. So you better get use to it. That's all I have to say.
