RAW Results for 11-28-2016: Tag Title Match and Women's Title Match
The show kicked off with Chris Jericho and The Highlight Reel. Kevin Owens came out after a minute or so, and he and "Y2J" did their whole best friends thing. They made fun of Seth Rollins and spoke about him not being medically cleared to wrestle. At that point, Roman Reigns showed up and said that Owens hadn't won anything on his own, adding that he needed Jericho for everything. The "Ayatollah of Rock n Rolla" was ready to put Reigns on the list, when Owens actually told Jericho to "Shut up," and even said to Reigns that he didn't need the former Undisputed Champion. Reigns then challenged Owens to a match tonight, where if he beat him, he got a title shot at "Roadblock: End of the Line." General Manager Mick Foley eventually walked out, and he made the match between Owens and Reigns official. The show went to break after that.
Coming back from commercial, Owens and Jericho were in the back walking, when "Y2J" asked Owens what he meant by not needing him. Owens said that he never asked for his help in the matches, and that it wasn't needed. Jericho got angry, then, and Foley came upon the scene. Immediately, "Y2J" told the general manager not to worry about barring him from ringside because he was leaving the building...and friendship with Owens.
Match 1 - R-Truth w/ Goldust vs. Braun Strowman: The big man ended this match by giving Truth a running powerslam. After the match, Goldust went to check on his tag team partner, and he got attacked by Strowman. Sami Zayn suddenly appeared, and he did his best to fend off the big man. Unfortunately, it didn't go so well, and Foley had to come out to prevent further damage. An argument between Foley and Zayn ensued afterwards.
Match 2 - Cedric Alexander vs. Tony Nese: Nese delivered a pump handle driver to Alexander, and then pinned him for the win.
At the conclusion of the second match, Jericho was shown leaving the building. He got to his limousine and told the driver to open the door. The driver accidentally knocked the List of Jericho out of "Y2J's" hand and as the former world champ went to pick it up, asked, "Do you know what this means?" An unintimidated voice then said, "No, what does it mean?" When Jericho looked up, it was Seth Rollins. "The Architect" then proceeded to pummel Jericho, ending things with a Pedigree on top of a car.
Match 3 - Women's Championship, Sasha Banks vs (c) Charlotte Flair: The champ took things to the outside very early in the match, and she ended up beating Banks by count-out. Foley walked onto the entrance ramp, and that is when he scheduled a rematch for later on in the evening. That rematch would be contested under falls count anywhere rules.
Match 4 - Rusev vs. Enzo Amore w/ Big Cass: The bell rang to start the match, and within seconds, Rusev kicked Amore in the nether region. Clearly, Rusev was still sending a message based off of last week's unfortunate meeting. The disqualification loss didn't even matter to the "Bulgarian Brute."
Match 5 - Rich Swann vs. Noam Dar: Swann won this match by pinfall after hitting Dar with a roundhouse kick.
Match 6 - Roman Reigns vs. Kevin Owens; If Reigns Wins, He Faces Owens For the Belt at "Roadblock: End of the Line:" The Universal Champ wasn't himself on this night, and that led to his downfall. Reigns ended the match after giving Owens a spear.
Match 7 - Tag Team Championship, Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson vs. (c) The New Day: Woods then countered Anderson's roll-up with one of his own, but pulled the tights for good measure. Woods then held on for the three-count, allowing his team to retain the titles.
In the back, we saw Owens telling everybody that he wasn't fully into his match because of the attack on Jericho. He then added that things will be different at "Roadblock: End of the Line."
Main Event - Falls Count Anywhere, Women's Championship Match, Sasha Banks vs (c) Charlotte Flair: This match didn't take long to spill outside the ring, with both women taking the fight near the entrance ramp. If you're wondering, each woman did have pin attempts outside of the ring, and the match actually ended in the stands. However, before that happened, the two competitors did return to the ring for a while. After fighting in the ring for a bit, then the women once again took their fight in to the stands. And they took it so deep in to the stands, that the challenger and champion began to climb up an arena stairway. In the middle of it, Charlotte ended up between a railing, and that is when Sasha applied the Banks Statement on her. With the pain becoming unbearable, the champion tapped out and lost her belt. Sasha ran to the ring as soon as the submission came, and after raising the belt, was met by Ric Flair. The WWE Hall of Famer congratulated the new champion.
