Denver's Blocked Kick Stuns New Orleans
When Brandon Cooks scored his 32-yard touchdown catch with 1:30 remaining in the fourth-quarter, the Saints crowd erupted and were sold on Will Lutz making the extra point to take the lead. Justin Simmons refused to lose as he blocked the extra point and Will Parks picked up the ball and scored on the 2-point conversion, to give Denver a 25 to 23 victory over New Orleans.
They reviewed the play to see if he stepped out of bounds on the return. It looked liked he did but the refs said otherwise. The Saints would try the onside kick afterwards, but they failed.
In the first quarter, Trevor Siemian threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Taylor.
In the third quarter, Willie Snead caught two touchdown passes from Drew Brees. Brees finished with 303 yards passing 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Snead finished with 5 catches for 47 yards and 2 touchdowns.
With the Broncos trailing 17 to 10 in the fourth-quarter, Siemian threw a 2-yard touchdown pass to Demaryius Thomas. Thomas finished with 8 catches for 87 yards and 1 touchdown. Siemian finished with 258 passing yards 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions.
The Broncos will be on a bye next week and then will face the Kansas City Chiefs (7-2) in week 12.
