Chip Kelly Axed!
Several days ago on Saturday night, in South Philadelphia the Philadelphia Eagles hopes of an NFC East title came to an end as the Washington Redskins beat the Eagles, 38-24 to win the NFC East division. It was just another bad performance by the Eagles but little did we know that it would be the last game for Chip Kelly as Eagles' Head Coach.
On Tuesday at 7:12 PM ET the Philadelphia Eagles put out a press release via @Eagles twitter and team's site saying that they have "release" or fired Chip Kelly as Eagles' Head coach. Eagles' Owner/Chairman/CEO Jeffrey Lurie, released a letter (statement) on the team's website to the fans.

— Jeff McLane (@Jeff_McLane) December 30, 2015Letter from Jeffrey Lurie to the Eagles fans posted on the team's site:
I made a decision to release Chip Kelly this evening. I spent the last three seasons evaluating the many factors involved in our performance as a team. As I watched this season unfold, I determined that it was time to make a change.
As we move forward, the search for a new head coach will begin, and will be led by myself. Don Smolenski and Howie Roseman. To the extent that we are able, we will try to keep you informed as we go through the process.
Pat Shurmur will be our interim coach for the Giants game Sunday.
We have also release Ed Marynowitz, vice president of player personnel. Tom Donahoe, who has been our senior football advisor since 2012, will assume the role of senior director of personnel.
I am determined and excited to select a new coach to help us obtain our ultimate goal.
Thank you for your consistent and enthusiastic support. It is always appreciated.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey Lurie
Chairman and CEO

— Philadelphia Eagles (@Eagles) December 30, 2015My thoughts on the game was it wasn't really any big surprise that they loss and the way they did. They're just not a good team period and the Washington Redskins deserved to win the NFC East division, they were truly the better team on both sides of the ball. No point in going to detail as it has been several days since they loss.
Now to the bigger story of the week and that is the firing of Eagles' head coach Chip Kelly. I was and still am in complete shock that he is no longer then Head Coach of the Eagles. I am thrilled, happy and reveled that he is gone!! Now I can start enjoying watching the Eagles games again, I found myself at times rooting against them because of Chip. I never wanted him in the first place but since last November when they loss to the Washington Redskins that ended their hopes making the playoffs its gone down hill since. It feels good to have the Eagles back it felt like they were not the Eagles team I grew up loving!
Former Eagles' Quarterback, Donovan McNabb took to twitter and shared his thoughts on the firing!
Well I tried to tell you before the game Saturday that the game meant much more to Chip then anything. Philly is about playoff wins. Fired
