The "Answer" Allen Iverson gets the Call to the Hall!
On Monday morning in Houston, Texas, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, Class of 2016 was announced as former Philadelphia sports legend and 76ers great, the "Answer" Allen Iverson was named as one of ten inductees in this year's class. The other nine inductees include, Yao Ming, Shaquille O'Neal, Zelmo Beaty, Sheryl Swoopes, Darell Garretson, Tom Izzo, Jerry Reinsdorf, John McLendon and Cumberland Posey. They will all be inducted in Springfield, Massachusetts on September 8-10 during this year's Enshrinement festivities.

Allen Iverson, was one of the greatest sports athletes in Philadelphia sports history and my all time favorite sports figure/athlete in any sport. He played every single game like it was his last, he define the city of Philadelphia and what it meant to play in this city. He was one of the most beloved popular athletes not just in Philadelphia sports but around the world. Allen Iverson was one of the most fearless players I've ever seen to play in the NBA.
Iverson and the Philadelphia fans have this special bond that will last a lifetime. Iverson was among the top selling jerseys of all time, in fact he was in the top three with Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant but that was from 1998-2008. He had one of the top selling shoes also. AI was basically an icon around the world.
The Sixers retired his number three jersey two years ago. Iverson ranks second all time in Sixers history in points, second in minutes played and second in steals. He is one of the greatest guards if not the greatest in Sixers history and top three most popular sixer of all time. Twenty years ago, the Philadelphia 76ers drafted Allen Iverson as the number one overall pick in the NBA draft and two decades (20 years) later he's going into the Basketball Hall of Fame.
